Scuba diving certifications are earned, and over the last 3 days, Julie, Pablo and Eric certainly worked hard to earn their PADI Open Water Diver certifications. Day 1 was a full day of theory in French with Eric (owner of KLD) as the three of them felt more comfortable doing this part of the course in their native language. As Eric was not going to be available for the rest of their course, Claudia took over on day 2 for confined water training and their first open water dive. Day 3 proved to be the most memorable day of all, and not simply because they had three open water dives. We were caught in the middle of an unexpected storm in the morning, delaying our day for two hours as we made our escape from Koh Taru. We battled big waves, rain and the chill from being wet on a boat with the wind in our faces. They maintained high spirits, treating it as one big adventure. In the end, everything worked out, the weather cleared up and we even got a bit of sunshine again. It was a long day, and celebratory drinks were very much enjoyed back at the dive center in the evening. Thank you Julie, Pablo and Eric for choosing us and we definitely hope to see you again!
